A frontierwoman's eldest daughter is kidnapped by restless Indians. Her estranged father with Indian roots, embarks on a dangerous journey to bring the child home.
A decent adventure tale that sports some nice performances and verges on having a somewhat original plotline. While the relationships are familiar, the context of the estranged father are a bit different, his Indian roots make for a more layered script.
Despite a few good action sequences little in the film can be called exciting. We do get several good performances but a bit of tighter editing might have gone a long way to enhance overall appeal. This might be a growing problem in Ron Howard's work.
