Lara Croft, of computer gaming fame, takes to the big screen minus the polygons. An affluent, young English woman who has a penchant for adventure must capture two sides of an ancient artifact that can control time.
Apparently, girls do indeed kick ass. The plot quickly becomes convoluted, and there's little interesting dialogue but Joile has perfected the Croft persona. She has the look and presumed attitude of the adventure heroin. She's very easy on the eyes, and the prosthetic bosoms she sports aide in the larger than life persona (no pun intended). However, we've come to think of Lara Croft as a loner and in the film she's always hanging around people. This detracts from the figure, for me. Most of the action sequences are well done, but nothing is spectacular and there's nothing you haven't seen before.
A nice vehicle for Joile and a moderately good summer distraction, but nothing close to a great film.
Directed by Simon West.
