Based on the play by Reginald Rose about jurors deciding the fate of a young Hispanic male accused of murdering his father. A guilty verdict sends the boy to the gas chamber; eleven members have their minds set but a lone juror thinks threat of the death penalty deserves further consideration of the facts.
Long considered a gem in 1950's cinema, 12 Angry Men is a hard-boiled thinker of a film. What starts off as a quick recounting of facts and testimony becomes an involved retelling of the crime in question. The heat turns up when the personalities and personal motives of each juror become more prevalent and as jurors change their position on the boy's guilt.
Even if it is beginning to show it's age a bit, 12 Angry Men remains a quality film with quality performances that most everyone will enjoy.
