JFK confides in his most trusted advisors as the world is thrust to the brink of nuclear war during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.
A somewhat forgotten era of American history is brought to light here. Nice performances all around, and Kevin Costner puts in his best performance since JFK. The New England accents are bit annoying, but you get used to them. Thirteen Days gets a hold of you early and doesn't let go, there's really not that much mounting tension, it's all pretty tense all the time.
Well written, and smartly directed, Thirteen Days is a very good retelling of a turning point in world events.
Directed by Roger Donaldson.
