While trapped in a diner during a blizzard in Colorado, an unpopular president is pushed to the brink of nuclear war with Iraq.
Set in the near future, 2008, Deterrence is a little heard of involving drama. Pollock is perfectly cast as a determined but hampered president. The progression of the movie is pleasing with its suspense and pathos. Some of the supporting characters could be better defined and a bit of the dialogue falls a little flat. But there's definitely something about this film that grabs you I think it's fear.
Deterrence wasn't loved by other critics but audiences are finally now discovering the film as great DVD buy or rental.
Directed by Rod Lurie.
