A lawyer must defend her ex-Marine husband from a years-ago murder wrap. Everything changes as new truths come to light.
What starts off as a marginally interesting courtroom drama morphs into a more interesting suspense story. Judd, Freeman, Caviezel and company all give believable performances. Freeman's character could have been given a little more to do, he is on screen quite a bit but his personal story doesn't couple all that well with the main plot.
Although certainly entertaining, High Crimes is mostly another not so bad, not so wonderful crime drama.
Of special note is the DVD. The film transfer to DVD is fantastic; it is one of the clearest, sharpest pictures I've seen. There is plenty of really interesting extras about the making of the film, characters and story that you may actually want to watch. A first class DVD production.
