Two
FBI agents with very different
viewpoints investigate
the murder of three boys
in 1960's Mississippi.
Things heat up when the
trail leads to local powerbrokers
with ties to the Klan.
DaFoe and Hackman make
for a formidable pair,
with Hackman giving a
particularly fiery performance.
McDormand and Dourif give
excellent performances
in their supporting roles
as well. Mississippi Burning
is critically well regarded
and a brave film for its
time. Those interested
in historic race issues
or gripping crime drama
should not overlook this
film.
Directed by Alan Parker.
