A man, his dim-witted brother and a drinking buddy stumble upon $4 million hidden inside a downed plane in the woods. But trying to protect their secrect has them scared of each other, the law and the criminals who lost the money. And they soon find that crime costs more than it pays.

This story does draw many paralells to Of Mice and Men, but the differences are enough to keep A Simple Plan original. This movie has drama, suspence and emotion; and, of course, Thorton never disapoints.
