Movie Review
Swimming Pool
of 5

A reserved British author in a writing funk takes a vacation at the French home of her publisher. Her quiet time is upended when the publisher's promiscuous daughter arrives.

Nice performances from the pair of leading ladies in a film with a curious and illicit script. Small infractions in the living situation between the ladies garner just enough intrigue to keep the story moving and the audience interested. By the time the story escalates and the twists are thrown in—we are hooked. Ludivine Sagnier, the younger of the two actresses, is naked through a good portion of the picture, further promoting the clash of personalities and an air of steamy voyeurism.

Well received by critics, Swimming Pool is a simple little tale with a twist that may leave you wondering just exactly what did take place in that charming cottage on the French countryside.

Available in two DVD versions, the original R-rated version and an Unrated version which contains considerably more nudity.

Directed by Francois Ozon.
