The most advanced Terminator yet, model TX, arrives in the form of a sexy assassin with a real mean streak and is tasked with both killing leaders of the future resistance and getting a jump-start on Armageddon. The old Terminator Model T-800 "is back" to defend the life of John Conner and his future wife.
Faster paced and equally as exciting as its predecessors, T3 delivers where it counts. And in the realm of summer blockbusters, we're often talking about action, action, action. Topped by an amazingly filmed street chase scene that destroyed more property than a dozen lesser summer blockbusters.
Arnold maintains the Terminator persona and I was pleased with Stahl and Danes in their supporting roles. But Kristanna Loken makes the biggest splash as the opposing Terminator. Although she speaks very little, she has great screen presence and is sexy and fearful at once
Director Jonathan Mostow keeps the action moving. Most scenes are only a few minutes in length at their maximum.
Because T3's runtime is considerably shorter than the first two movies, I felt it was more of a glimpse; a less "full" picture. The story continues the lore of future self-destruction and leaves the door wide open for yet another installment.
Directed by Jonathan Mostow.
